B.TECH - Petroleum Engineering

Petroleum engineering is a branch of engineering that focuses on the exploration, production, and extraction of oil and gas resources from underground reservoirs. It involves the application of scientific and engineering principles to maximize the recovery of hydrocarbons from reservoirs while ensuring safe and environmentally sustainable operations. Exploration, production, and extraction of oil and gas from subsurface reservoirs are the main areas of study in the technical discipline known as petroleum engineering. In order to maximize hydrocarbon recovery while maintaining secure and effective operations, it involves the use of scientific and engineering principles.


 

Course duration:The UG degree in Petroleum engineering is for 4 years from any university in the country for 10+2 students and is  3 years for Diploma graduates.

Eligibility for B.E./B.Tech:

  • Students must have completed a 10+2 / equivalent exam from a recognized board with Physics, Maths, Chemistry, and Computer Science as mandatory subjects.
  • The Students must be a minimum of 17 years of age by the admission Year.
  • Qualified in one or more Entrance Exams like  EAMCET, OUATET, KCET, BCECE CET,  etc.


 

Admission Process

The admission for B.E/B. Tech is done based on the ranking in the National Entrance Examination (JEE) or State level Entrance Exam like (KCET) or direct university entrance exams like VITEEE, BITSAT, etc. There are some colleges offering seats based on Merit from 12th Exams.

  • The Consortium of Medical, Engineering & Dental college is the conducting agency of COMED - K exam.
