Eligibility criteria:

Under-Graduate

BE / B.Tech

  • Passed the 2nd PUC/ 12th / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the languages with a minimum of 45% of marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/ Biotechnology / Biology / Electronics/ Computers. (40% for Karnataka reserved category candidates).
  • Taking any one entrance exam is Mandatory. CET/ COMED-K / JEE / AIEEE

Post-Graduate

MTech

  • Relevant BE/BTech degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate (45% for Karnataka SC/ST category) from a recognized university. 
  • Entrance Exam (anyone): PGCET/GATE in the core specialization

MBA

  • Have a minimum of 50% aggregate in graduation from a recognized university
  • Have completed graduation in Commerce, Arts, Science, Business Management, Law, Agriculture, or Engineering disciplines
  • Have taken any of the Management entrance tests, such as PGCET, KMAT, or any such similar examinations

MCA

  • Have a bachelor's degree in computer applications, computer science, or a related field with a minimum of 50% marks
  • Have mathematics as a core subject in their high school education 10+2 and Bachelor Courses
  • Have passed Graduation in BCA or equivalent from a recognized board
  • Have acquired a minimum aggregate of 60% in the qualifying examination
  • Have a BCom degree from any UGC-approved university with a minimum of 50 percent marks

Admission and selection process :

Admission to undergraduate engineering programs at BIT is done through three modes:

  • Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET): KCET is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).
  • Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (COMEDK UGET): COMEDK UGET is a private entrance exam conducted by the COMEDK Consortium.
  • Management Quota: BIT also offers a limited number of seats through the management quota.

Postgraduate Admission

For postgraduate admission to BIT, candidates must have passed the bachelor's degree in the relevant field with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

Admission to postgraduate engineering programs at BIT is done through two modes:

  • Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE): GATE is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) and the Indian Institute of Science (IISc).
  • Postgraduate Common Entrance Test (PGCET): PGCET is a state-level entrance exam conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA).

Admission to the MBA program at BIT is done through the following entrance exams:

Selection Process
