ABOUT M.S. RAMAIAH DENTAL COLLEGE (MSRDC):

M.S Ramaiah Dental College was established in 1991. It is a private Institution, committed to providing quality Medical Education. The M.S Ramaiah Dental College and Hospital, is a part of the M.S Group of Institutions, which is managed and also run by Gokula Education Foundation. The Institution is spread over an area of 80 acres. It is accredited to UGC(University Grants Commission), and approved by the Dental Council of India(DCI). The M.S Ramaiah Dental College offers degrees in undergraduate and Postgraduate courses - BDS(Bachelor of Dental Surgery) and MDS(Master of Dental Surgery).

Eligibility Criteria M.S. Ramaiah Dental College

BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery): 

  • Students must be of 17 years of age, as of 31st December, in the year of admission.
  • Students must secure a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, from a recognized board.
  • If a student belongs to SC/ST category then the maximum aggregate 10+2 exam is 40%
  • Appearing in NEET UG (National Eligibility Entrance Test-Undergraduate) is necessary.
  • After Qualifying for NEET UG, students must enroll for NEET UG Counseling conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority ( KEA).

Eligibility Criteria for Postgraduate Students 

MDS (Master of Dental Surgery):

  • The aspiring candidate must have passed the BDS course from a Dental College recognized by Dental Council of India (DCI).
  • Candidates  must have qualified for NEET MDS Exam with a valid score.
  • Candidates must have completed one year of mandatory internship before applying to the post graduate program.
  • The minimum age requirement is 20 years.

ADMISSION & SELECTION PROCESS

  • All the available seats, including NRI/Management quota, are allotted by merit under the state quota through counseling conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority and the selection will be based on the rank obtained in NEET UG conducted on an all-India basis.

Post-Graduate

MDS

  • All the available seats, including the NRI/Management quota, are allotted by merit under the state quota through counseling by the Karnataka Examination Authority.
  • Selection will be based on the rank obtained by the candidate in the NEET (National Eligibility Entrance Test) MDS exam, conducted on an all-India basis.

Internships and Clinical Exposure

Students at M.S Ramaiah Dental College and Hospital, benefit from an internship program as part of their dental education. Students who are enrolled in the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program are meant to complete one year of compulsory internship , which is quite essential for gaining practical experience across various dental specialties. The internship period is mandatory for one year and the college also provides a stipend of INR 3,000 per month for the internship. Through this internship, students gather practical experience across various dental specialties, along with theoretical knowledge.The college comprises specialized centers such as oral surgery and pediatric dentistry, which further provide interns with experience to engage with patients going through varied clinical scenarios. Interns work under the supervision of an experienced faculty and thereby, they are under continuous guidance.
