SJBIT Bangalore provides eight undergraduate programs, two postgraduate programs, four MBA and Master of Computer Application (MCA) degrees, as well as research programs leading to a Ph.D.The professors at SJBIT work very closely with the students and impart great technical expertise & skills to broaden the student's understanding of their field. They have the ideal mix of academic expertise, professional experience, and research abilities.   • Center of Excellence: Throughout their study, engineering students must acquire a range of theoretical ideas. We can make sure students are more engaged and retain their understanding long after a concept has been introduced by using a hands-on teaching technique. SJBIT received accreditation from National Instruments and invested Rs. 1.3 crore in tools and product kits that assist industry professionals and students in seizing opportunities to advance their abilities. 

  • Research Initiatives: SJBIT has set up an R&D center at the institutional level to encourage innovation and research among teachers and students. The Research Center is involved in locating new research areas and creating initiatives that result in publications in journals and conferences on a national and international scale. The research center aids in fostering complementary and cooperative research among several SJBIT departments to investigate cutting-edge technology. The Center also provides assistance and writing tips for project proposals, scientific research articles that will be published, and locating study findings for patent applications. In the SJBIT research center, 27 Ph.D. degrees have been given, and 104 scholars from different colleges and engineering areas are now working on their research projects.
  • Innovation Center: To encourage research activities and develop an innovative culture among faculty members, research scholars, and students, SJBIT established the Innovation Centre. The center's development is especially being overseen by the 12 highly qualified faculty members.  Numerous research initiatives have been launched successfully by the Innovation Centre to inform academic members of the institute about the financing options and research processes. Through these programs, the Innovation Centre actively encourages faculty members to submit research project proposals that reflect a multidisciplinary approach, have a strong potential for commercial success, call for the creation of industry-ready devices, and contain ideas that are patentable and have a positive impact on society. 
  • Publications: The excellent publications created by staff and students serve as a testament to SJBIT's strength. In order to help them develop into self-assured professionals, students are actively encouraged to produce articles. The staff members also publish their original research and technological advancements in prestigious magazines.

A minimum of 45% overall in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics on the Karnataka P.U.C. exam, or its equivalent, is required. This ratio is set at 40% for candidates who are SC or ST. The B.E. programs also accept foreign/NRI students. They need to have an active student VISA.

  • M.Tech - 

Candidates who have passed the prescribed qualifying (BE/B.Tech) examination with not less than 50% of the marks in aggregate of all the semesters/years of the degree examination (cumulative sum of secured marks of all the semesters/years divided by the sum of maximum marks). In the case of candidates from Karnataka belonging to SC/ST/Cat -1, marks shall not be less than 45%.

  • MBA -

Candidates who obtained a bachelor's degree with a minimum of 50%, or an integer 50% (rounding the total percent is not permitted) of the marks obtained overall examination years. Candidates from Karnataka who are SC/ST and Cat-1 must have a cumulative percentage of marks from all qualifying examination years that is greater than or equal to 45% (integer).

Campus Life@SJBIT

Sports

Since its foundation, the department has actively promoted sports and physical activity. It has always been essential in planning sporting events and competitions. It offers outstanding amenities in terms of equipment and excellent state-of-the-art indoor sports infrastructure. SJBIT's placement among the top ten Institutions in VTU Sports and Cultural Activities attests to this. In 18 years, it has earned the Rs. 1,000,000 Cash Award from VTU three times: in 2005–2006, 2010–2011, and 2015–2016.

Cultural activities

The SJB Institute of Technology's intercollegiate techno-cultural festival is called VARCHASVA. This yearly event features new twists, difficulties, victors, and tons of entertainment. It is a two-day event with a variety of activities and competitions that test the abilities of students from across the city. The students plan this celebration together and well each year. It gives the kids a platform to showcase their skills in addition to letting them explore their artistic and creative sensibility. 

Library

In 2001, when the institute first opened, the Library and Information Center was built. Its first collection consisted of 2500 volumes, with a 400 square meter carpet space. Today, it is housed in a separate building with four enormous storeys and a total floor size of 3157 square meters. It also has good natural lighting and ventilation. The library contains a large collection of books, with 48059 volumes and 7861 titles. It offers access to 6593 electronic journals and 28149 electronic books, mostly in the fields of management, science, technology, and engineering. There are also 70 print journals with national renown available. 

Hostel

  • Both boys and girls have access to first-rate housing on campus. 
  • All students staying in hostels have access to both indoor and outdoor sporting facilities. 
  • Laundry facilities and furnished rooms are offered. 
  • SJBIT's ATM facility provides sophisticated banking services on the campus. 
  • CCTV is present throughout the campus at all times. 

Transport

The SJB Institute of Technology provides students, professors, and employees from all areas of Bengaluru who are in need of a comprehensive, well-designed, and scheduled transit bus facility. To support all consumers, the transport costs are kept low. The route coordinators will be assigned by the SJBIT Transport Committee to oversee and direct students. Additionally, free bus service is offered from SJB Main Arch Circle to the institute campus during morning and evening rush hours to assist students who utilize BMTC buses to go to campus.
