MS Ramaiah Institute of Technology (MSRIT Bangalore), was established in 1962 by the visionary and philanthropist Dr. M.S Ramaiah who founded many remarkable firms in India. It is the first institution that was formed under Dr. Ramaiah’s Gokula Education Foundation. The Ramaiah College Bangalore made its mark in the Engineering field with its exceptional quality of education. RIT was initially affiliated with Mysore University, then shifted its affiliation to Bangalore University (until 2002), and is currently affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU). 

RIT Bangalore has 14 undergraduate, 17 postgraduate, and 15 research courses. Ramaiah College is accredited by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) & NAAC. In 2007, it was granted autonomous status for its Undergraduate and postgraduate courses. MSRIT Bangalore is independent in structuring its academic curriculum and assessing exams yet VTU grants degrees. The college is responsibly run by the heirs of M.S Ramaiah under the Gokula Education Foundation.

  • IBM Centre of Excellence: RIT has the honor of being Karnataka's first IBM Centre of Excellence which was established on 19 March 2009.  It trains faculties as well as students on the latest technologies. They allow students to do their projects with their guidance.
  • Abode RIA Lab: MSRIT Abode RIA Lab set up by Adobe Systems in Ramaiah College gives web-related training. The computer science and IT-related departments can benefit from learning Web 2.0 and Rich Internet Applications (RIA) with Adobe.
  • Schneider Electric: The center of Schneider Electric at RIT Bangalore emphasizes giving courses on Industrial process automation and control.
  • Intel Centre of Excellence: It has been established on the MSRIT campus to coach the lecturers of MSRIT and other college faculties on architecture and parallel programming. The trainers here are experts from IISc and Intel. This gives an edge over others and results in upping their practical knowledge.
  • EMC2 Knowledge Centre: This particular center provides an opportunity to use materials, videos, white papers, books, and demos on Information Storage Management and 'Storage Area Networks. It also contributes to an elective paper in the 6th semester of the B.E degree.

Eligibility Criteria

BTech

  • The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with PCM or PCB with Computer Science or Computer Electronics as optional Subjects with a minimum of 45% (40% for ST/SC/OBC/Category 1) aggregate. 
  • Entrance Exam: KEA - COMEDK 

BArch

  • The candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum of 50% in PCM or PCB (45% for ST/SC/OBC/Category 1) aggregate.
  • Qualify for NATA with a minimum of 40% 

MCA

  • The candidate must hold a BCA degree with a minimum of 50% (45% in the case of ST/SC) aggregate from a recognized university.
  • Entrance Exam: KMAT or PGET (Anyone is mandatory)

MBA 

  • The candidate must hold a 3 years graduation degree (any) from a recognized university with a minimum of 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ST)

RIT Bangalore college campus is located at the core of Bengaluru city. Life at RIT college is nothing short of comfort and excellence. On a tranquil stretch of 25 acres, the campus is situated with impressive infrastructure. The peaceful surrounding complements giving a natural setting that is apt for learning. The campus encompasses all the necessary facilities that one would need.

There are 8 heavy-duty washing machines along with 24/7 electricity, drinking water LED TV, newspaper, and magazines in all blocks. Importantly, there is a high-speed internet connection across the campus. 

The hostel has mess facilities that offer both North Indian and South Indian meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The canteen also remains open with light snacks at midnight for hunger crunches. 

Library

The Centre of Information at MSRIT has truly been the gateway to knowledge for every alumni and staff equally. The two-story central library for MSRIT holds a manifold of resources for engineering, management, and architecture. The library is centralized AC with a carpet area of 1762 sq. ft. divided strategically into 6 sections to “reduce the time of the reader” concept of library science & is operated through a fully automated library management software. Alongside the pyramid of printed versions of Books, Journals, and Research paper, the library has a myriad of e-resources that is available to the alumni and staff of the MSRIT. 

Sports & Gym

Giving equal importance to extra-curricular and practical learning is one of the major virtues of studying at MSRIT. The college has an in-campus ground for Football & Cricket, courts for Basketball & Volleyball, and several indoor games. The campus also has a multifunctional gym with a range of free weights and other aerobic equipment helping the students to maintain their body fat and physic. 

Network & Information Centre

The college has its own advanced network and information center that houses all the important main load servers and data. The infrastructure is fully airconditioned to sustain and maintain the server temperatures. The college campus has a 650 Mbps wired bandwidth and 1.5 Gbps wireless bandwidth with around 143 APs across the campus. The mainframe is a network of 3200+ computers running in the entire campus and also powers the 413 CCTVs.

At MSRIT events like Seminars, Plays, Extempore, Competitions, Industrial Visits, and a variety of others are hosted in-house. There are several auditoriums and seminar halls within the campus namely;
