Sri Krishnadevaraya Educational Trust established the prestigious Sir M. Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology (Sir MVIT) in the state of Karnataka in 1986. Eligibility criteria:

BE

Passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one among Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Biology/ Technical Vocational Subjects. Obtained at least 45% marks (40% in case of candidate belonging to the reserved category of Karnataka) in the above subjects taken together.

BE lateral entry

Diploma in any AICTE-approved institution or passed any Equivalent Exam from a recognized university and 10+2 Passed with Mathematics as one of the subjects. Aggregate 45% marks in 10+2 (40% in case of candidate belonging to the reserved category of Karnataka). Admission only through KEA.

M.Tech

Bachelor's Degree in the relevant field. Obtained at least 50% marks (45% in case of candidate belonging to the reserved category of Karnataka) at the Qualifying Examination. Appeared in PGCET/GATE

MBA

Any Degree from a Recognised University. Minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Degree (45% in case of candidate belonging to the reserved category of Karnataka). Attend in any one entrance exam of PGCET/CMAT/KMAT

MCA

The candidate must have earned an equivalent degree or a BCA/Bachelor in Computer Science and Engineering.

OR

The candidate should have passed B.Sc./B.Com./B.A. with Mathematics at 10+2 level or Graduation Level (with additional bridge courses as per the norms of the concerned University).

The candidate should have obtained at least 50% marks (45% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the qualifying examination.

Placement @MVIT:

The training and placement cell of the college is very effectively engaged in developing the students in all needed skills and placing them in top companies. A minimum of 35 to 40 top companies visit the college every year between 90% to 100% of students are placed. The placement covers all branches equally including non-IT branches Mechanical, Civil, IEM, Biotechnology, etc and a good number of non-IT companies also visit to college continuously along with IT companies.

Campus Life @ MVIT

Sir MVIT is situated on a vast campus of 133 acres on Bellary Road near Air Force station, Yelahanka, close to Bengaluru International Airport (21 km from Bangalore City station). The institute has 2800 students & over 260 well-experienced faculty members, fully equipped labs (including project labs), and seminar halls (For each department adequately equipped with multimedia facilities). With well-qualified and motivated faculty, state-of-the-art laboratory facilities, a well-equipped library, and a high-speed Internet browsing center with connectivity and almost 100% placement.

Hostel: 

The institute provides hostel accommodation for students – both Men and Ladies who wish to stay on the campus. There are 5 Men’s Hostels, one for freshers and the others for seniors which accommodates 946 students. Normally two students are accommodated in a room. The rooms are provided with fans. Each student is provided a cot, a cupboard a table, and a chair. Hot water from the Solar Water heater is available in the bathrooms.

Library:

One of the best technical libraries is the Central Library of Sir MVIT, which is easily accessible and user-friendly. The 1400.8 sqm library and information center is situated in the middle of a separate, roomy building. dispersed over two levels. There can be 100 students seated at once in total.  The library currently has 64288 volumes in its collection.  The Library has all the amenities and resources of a modern establishment. The Library organizes information in print and digital formats, guarantees easy access to and discovery of these scholarly resources, and offers staff, faculty, students, and research scholars expert assistance in locating, assessing, managing, and utilizing these resources. Reference books including dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, and standards are included in the collection.
