B.TECH - Biomedical Engineering

Biomedical engineering is multidisciplinary field and integrates engineering, biology, and medical concepts to create products and technologies that advance healthcare. In order to improve diagnosis, therapy, and overall patient care, it uses engineering principles and design concepts. Many biomedical engineers start their own companies and ventures to develop and commercialize their inventions, medical devices, or healthcare solutions. They may seek funding, collaborate with industry partners, and work on bringing new technologies and products to the market.

 

Course Duration: The UG degree in Biomedical engineering is for 4 years from any university in the country for 10+2 students and is  3 years for Diploma graduates.

Eligibility for B.E./B.Tech:

  • The students must have passed the 10+2/PUC/equivalent examination from a recognized board or university with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology as mandatory subjects and secured 50% aggregate marks (45% for SC/ST/OBC).
  • The student should be 17 years of age by December 2023.
  • The Students must have qualified in any one entrance exam: JEE Main & Advanced, WBJEE, IMU CET, SRMJEEE MET, etc.

 

Admission Process

The admission for B.E/B. Tech is done based on the ranking in the National Entrance Examination (JEE) or State level Entrance Exam like WBJEE or direct Univerity Entrance exams. The JEE Mains exams are conducted in two phases. There are some colleges offering seats based on Merit from 12th Exams. There is no one rule fits all approach to admission so, please make yourself familiar with the different Entrance exams and the corresponding dates for the exams and cut-off in colleges.
