Admission Process:

In medical colleges and universities that offer admission to various physiotherapy courses through entrance tests, there are two common selection processes used. The following are the commonly adopted Physiotherapy admission processes in India across different medical institutions:

  • Counselling Based Admissions: This admission process is commonly utilized by universities that have multiple affiliated and constituent colleges offering the same physiotherapy course. Under this approach, prospective candidates are called for counseling based on their rank in the entrance test and the available vacancies for the specific course. Admission is then granted to candidates according to their merit lists and the ranks they have achieved.
  • Merit-Based Admissions: In the merit-based admissions system, candidates are obliged to undertake an entrance test, and their scores or ranks play a crucial role in determining their eligibility for the admission process. This approach is commonly employed by larger private universities and colleges, which face a considerable influx of applications but have only a limited number of available seats. The entrance exams serve as a means to shortlist candidates for further selection procedures, including personal interviews and/or group discussions.
