Eligibility Criteria

For joining JSS AHER, students should have eligibility criteria that differ according to the program:

Undergraduate Programs:

1. MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery)
   • Eligibility:
     • Candidates must be at least 17 years old by December 31st of the admission year.
     • Must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) with a minimum of 50% marks (45% for reserved categories).
     • NEET-UG is mandatory for admission.
2. BPT (Bachelor of Physiotherapy)
   • Eligibility:
     • Candidates must be at least 17 years old by December 31st of the admission year.
     • Must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) with a minimum of 50% marks.
3. B.Sc. (Nursing)
   • Eligibility:
     • Must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with a minimum of 45% marks.
     • Candidates must be at least 17 years old by December 31st of the admission year.
4. B.Sc. (Allied Health Sciences)
   • Eligibility:
     • Must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology with a minimum of 50% marks.

Postgraduate Programs:

1. MD (Doctor of Medicine) / MS (Master of Surgery)
   • Eligibility:
     • Must have an MBBS degree from a recognized institution.
     • NEET-PG is mandatory for admission.
2. MPT (Master of Physiotherapy)
   • Eligibility:
     • Must have a BPT degree from a recognized institution.
     • Admission is based on merit or entrance examination.
3. M.Sc. (Medical)
   • Specializations include Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacology, and Pathology.
   • Eligibility:
     • Must have a B.Sc. in the relevant field from a recognized institution.
4. M.Sc. (Nursing)
   • Eligibility:
     • Must have a B.Sc. (Nursing) degree with a minimum of 55% marks.
     • Must be a registered nurse/midwife with a minimum of one year of experience.
5. M.Sc. (Allied Health Sciences)
   • Specializations in Clinical Nutrition, Medical Imaging Technology, etc.
   • Eligibility:
     • Must have a B.Sc. in Allied Health Sciences or related fields.
6. M.Phil./Ph.D. Programs
   • Specializations in various medical and health sciences fields.
   • Eligibility:
     • Must have a Master’s degree in the relevant field.
     • Admission is based on entrance exams and interviews.

Admission & Selection Process

At JSS AHER, the admission process is merit-based hence only deserving candidates are provided with an opportunity :

• MBBS / B.Sc (UG): 

Selection is through NEET-UG ranking and merit-based allotment at state quota counselling by the Karnataka Examination Authority.

• Post-Graduate (MD/MS): 

Selection will be done through NEET-PG ranking along with merit-based allotment as per state quota counselling by the Karnataka Examination Authority.
