About IIT Hyderabad:

Founded in 2008, the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) is a prestigious science and technology institution. One of the most sought-after universities in the nation for science and technology, IITH has continuously been included in the top 10 engineering institutes in India by NIRF.

In addition to various contemporary interdisciplinary fields, IITH provides undergraduate degrees in applied sciences, design, and traditional engineering disciplines. Pupils are allowed to choose from a wide range of topics to study, with the option to minor or double major in a subject other than their own.

Education @IITH

IIT Hyderabad is built on research and innovation from the ground up. IIT Hyderabad Campus consistently produces a high number of patents and publications annually, which is indicative of a vibrant research culture. Graduate programs in a variety of fields are available at the master's and doctoral levels through IITH. Programs specifically for science, technology, design, and liberal arts are offered separately. The MTech program is available in a variety of formats and lengths to meet the nation's increasing demand for postgraduate-level professionals.

Advantages of IITH:

  • Fractal Academics- The Fractal Program at IITH allows for interdisciplinary learning with a broad selection of foundational courses and advanced electives by atomizing the courses into breadth and depth.

  • Entrepreneurship-IITH provides an entrepreneurship minor. The IITH minor in entrepreneurship is available to all students, in contrast to the other minor programs. This program's courses are taught by industrialists who are also entrepreneurs.
  • Double Major- By completing additional credits in a different department of interest, a B.Tech student at IITH can obtain a second major. When registering for a double major and the fourth semester, the student cannot have any backlogs.
  • Holistic Education- Various courses in the liberal arts and creative arts are offered to B.Tech students at IITH. Various topics such as photography, filmmaking, clay modeling, Madhubani painting, etc. are covered in some of the courses and workshops. Free electives that the students take from other engineering, science, art, and design departments serve to further emphasize the idea of a holistic education.

Campus Life @ IITH

The IIT Hyderabad infrastructure is well-known. Japanese engineers constructed it, and among its many air-conditioned, roomy classrooms is a sizable auditorium that is equally impressive in terms of size and infrastructure. The staff, faculty, and students of IITH have limited options for transportation. The nearest train station, Lingampally, offers regular service to and from the campus. Students are assigned to air-conditioned, contemporary computer labs at the Institute based on their batch. They have the newest software and hardware available. A typical student-to-PC ratio is one to two. Both gadgets are connected to a 1Gbps intranet backbone that links every residence, including hostels open around the clock.

Hostel:

Being a residential institution, IIT Hyderabad offers housing to students who choose to live in the dorms. The Hostel Office and the Council of Wardens handle overall administration and oversight. The hostels feature striking architecture, and the living areas are as contemporary as they get. Since every hostel has full WiFi, the internet is available anywhere we live. While living in a hostel is different from living at home and being away from your parents, you will come to understand that this is the stage of life where you will make many lasting friendships, learn to be independent and disciplined, and experience a lively and colorful environment. You will take pleasure in the enjoyable voyage that lies ahead of you with year-round activities.

Library:

Faculty, researchers, and students can easily access the subscription academic electronic resources from off the IIT Hyderabad campus with the Off-Campus Access program. All faculty members and academics have been given the AIMS [OpenLDAP] Username and Password to access the resources through identity providers around the clock. To obtain the AIMS username and password, get in touch with the CC. Please get in touch with the Library Team if you need any help.

Sports and fitness:

IIT Hyderabad sports attract a lot of interest from students and faculty around the nation as well as from other colleges in the city. There are a lot of athletic activities on the academic calendar, such as interdepartmental, interhostel, intercollegiate, and inter-IIT tournaments. A well-equipped gymnasium, an amazing football-cricket ground, a basketball court, a badminton court, a flood-lit volleyball court, and a lawn tennis court are among the excellent facilities provided. All of this, along with the community of students' unwavering dedication and excitement as well as the faculty's support and direction, has given students amazing opportunities to develop their skills. To foster relationships and instill a sense of sportsmanship, IIT Hyderabad has begun touring institutions and inviting them to one-day sporting events.
