Delhi Govt Introduces New Bus Routes for Schoolchildren and Commuters from Outer Areas

To improve public transportation in the area, Delhi Govt. introduced two new bus routes and increased the frequency of an existing route on Sunday. Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot flagged off the 892 SPL in the presence of Bijwasan MLA Bhupinder Singh Joon

The 892 SPL, a special route for school children, will run two services each in the morning and afternoon to align with school timings. According to an official statement, it will cover 6.5 kilometres from Dhoolsiras Village to Chhawla School.

Another route, 892 STL, will connect villages to urban areas. It will link stops like Dwarka Sector 21 Metro Station, Chhawla Village and the BSF Camp, covering about 19 kilometres. 

Reliable and Safer Public Transport 

Transport and Environment Minister, Kailash Gahlot said, “We are committed to making public transport more accessible and reliable, especially for residents of villages and outer Delhi areas. The launch of these routes is a step towards ensuring a cleaner, safer and more efficient travel experience for all commuters.” 

The frequency of buses on the 716 route has also been increased and two new air-conditioned CNG buses have been introduced. The route will now offer 16 trips per day, which is double the frequency before.
