NEET PG 2025 Likely in Mid-Year – Exam Date Speculation & Updates
This year the counselling process was delayed as it is believed that the National Eligibility Entrance Test - Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2025 will be conducted from March 2025 or mid-2025, doctors and PG medical aspirants speculate. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is going to close the registration window for the round of NEET PG counselling 2024 on November 17.
According to the NEET PG 2024 counselling schedule, the admission process will continue till January 2025. Four rounds of counselling are held for admission to MD, MS, DNB, and PG Diploma seats by the NEET PG exam, and the last round is the stary vacancy round, which will end on January 31, and the last date of reporting to the allotted institute is January 30.
It is believed that the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will publish the NEET PG 2025 exam date in November or December based on past years’ trends. In 2024, the PG medical entrance exam was held on August 11 which was revised 2 times. Earlier it was scheduled for March 3, but then the NEET PG exam date was changed to July 7 after that it was revised to August.
Here is a sign of distress for several students as NEET PG was conducted in two shifts for the first time in the exam's history, which upset several applicants and ultimately led to a dispute over transparency in the results. After hearing arguments from a number of students, the Supreme Court has not yet announced any decision on the request to display the answer key, response sheets and raw results.

A breast cancer surgeon, Rohan Khandelwal stated that the NEET PG 2025 is expected to be conducted after March. “NEET PG 2024 counselling schedule is released, with as Round 3 extended tilll mid-Jan. Also, NEET PG 2025 exams is expected to be postponed to March or later. Those students are on the margin, they must keep studying - if they did not get their dream seat, as no time is there for preparations!” the doctor said in a post on X.
