JEE Advanced 2025 Eligibility Released: Increased Attempts and More

This year the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur is going to conduct the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2025. The institute has released the JEE Advanced 2025 eligibility criteria for both Indian as well as foreign nationals on the official website at jeeadv.ac.in. A major change has been seen as the number of attempts has been increased from thrice which previously was only two.

It is expected that IITK will release the JEE Advanced 2025 information notification which contains the exam date, registration process, application fee, exam pattern, syllabus, marking scheme, and more on the official website very soon.

Shortlisted candidates who qualify JEE Mains 2025 exam will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced. JEE Advanced is held for admission for the IITs.

 

JEE Advanced 2025: Eligibility criteria

Here is the list of five criteria that must be fulfilled by every JEE aspirant before appearing for the JEE Advanced 2025:

 

Criterion A1: Performance in JEE Main 2025

Candidates should be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates (including all categories) in B.E./B.Tech. paper (Paper I) of JEE (Main) 2025. Here is the category-wise distribution provided by IITK:

Criterion A2: Age limit

Candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 2000. Five years of age relaxation is given to SC, ST, and PwD candidates, i.e. these candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1995.

 

Criterion A3: Number of attempts

A candidate can attempt JEE (Advanced) a maximum of three times in three consecutive years.

 

Criterion A4: Appearance in Class 12

 

Criterion A5: Admission at IITs previously
