JEE Main 2025: Eligibility Criteria Explained – State Code of Eligibility, Qualifying Exams for 2023-24

Hence the wait is over now, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has begun the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main 2025) registration. Candidates who are willing to give their first attempt in January can fill up the registration form. As per the schedule, the JEE Main registration deadline is November 22. Aspiring candidates can check the detailed eligibility criteria below.

The JEE Mains session 1 exam will begin on January 22 at various locations across India and abroad. The exam will be conducted on the  BE, BTech, and BArch and BPlanning papers. For admission to BTech programs at the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), centrally-funded technical institutes (CFTIs), and other participating colleges, a national entrance exam is conducted.

The JEE Advanced 2025, a test that opens the door to IIT admissions, students who qualify for the exam and rank under 2.5 will be eligible. The dates of the 2025 JEE Main Session 1 exam are January 22–31, and the dates of the Session 2 exam are April 1–8.

State Code of Eligibility

The state code of eligibility will be from the state where the candidate initially took the qualifying exam, not from the state where they appeared for improvement, if the candidate passed the Class 12 exam in one state but appeared for improvement in another.

Those who have completed Class 12 or are taking the NIOS exam should choose their eligibility state based on the state where the study center is located.
