IIIT Bhubaneswar NIRF Rankings Over the Last Five Years: A Performance Review
The International Institute of Information Technology Bhubaneswar (IIIT-Bhubaneswar), established in 2006 facing rank issues in recent times as it was placed in the 201-300 rank range this year in the engineering category of the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF). Located in Odisha's capital, IIIT-Bhubaneswar didn’t achieve a specific rank in the NIRF 2023, though, in 2022, it was ranked within the 201-250 range for engineering. In 2021, it ranked 190, but over recent years, its ranking has dropped based on the Ministry of Education’s evaluations. In 2020, the institute also ranked within the 201-250 range.

Looking at the institute’s placement record, 300 students enrolled in the 2020-21 academic year, and 260 of them were placed through campus recruitment after completing their four-year undergraduate course. The average salary offered was Rs 10 lakh, which remains the highest in recent years, based on the institute's records from 2018 to 2020.
The highest average salary for a postgraduate program candidate is Rs 7 lakh, which was the same in 2021-22. The Government of Odisha made the institute a unitary university on January 20, 2014.
