IIT Madras and Herbalife Offer 1,000 Scholarships for Data Science Students
IIT Madras took a significant step by collaborating with Herbalife, a health and wellness company, to offer 1,000 scholarships for students in the IIT Madras online BS Degree program in Data Science and Applications.
These scholarships are based on merit and financial need and aim to help students from underserved backgrounds. Half of these scholarships are reserved for female students to promote gender equality and support women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields.“This commitment enhances the initiative’s dedication to promoting gender equality and encouraging female representation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields,” an official IIT Madras notice stated.
At IIT Madras, with over 11,000 students on campus, our goal is to make quality education to as many as possible. We recognize that to truly reach more students, we need support beyond our campus. Through partnerships with corporations via Corporate Social Responsibility and philanthropy, we can offer scholarships, strengthen research, and broaden our educational impact in ways we couldn’t achieve alone. We’re thankful for Herbalife’s support in helping us advance these goals and create real change,” said Prof. Ashwin Mahalingam, Dean of Alumni and Corporate Relations at IIT Madras.
