NEET PG 2024 Counselling Schedule Live Updates: Registration, AIQ Seats, Cutoff & How to Apply
According to the Federation of Resident Doctors' Association, the NEET PG counselling 2024 Process is going to be commenced by November 11, 2024.
The Federation of All India Medical Association President recently said, “The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will soon announce the National Eligibility Entrance Test - Postgraduate Counselling 2024 schedule as the official authorities are not waiting for the next Supreme Court hearing.” The MCC NEET PG 2024 counselling schedule will be issued on the website at mcc.nic.in.
The process for NEET PG counselling is done for candidates who want to be admitted to All India Quota seats in
- Doctor of Medicine
- Master of Surgery
- Diplomate of National Board and Postgraduate diploma programmes.
The counselling process for NEET PG 2024 is expected to take place in four steps:
- Round 1
- Round 2
- Round 3, and
- The AIQ stray vacancy round.
On October 8, 2024, the Indian Medical Association sent a letter to Union Health Minister JP Nadda and requested that the NEET PG 2024 counselling be conducted without further delay.
MCC NEET PG counselling 2024 registration process started on September 20, 2024, and the dates for choice filling, editing, seat allotment and reporting, are still awaited. NEET PG 2024 counselling has continued in states like Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Jharkhand. However, the counselling process in five states, including Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan has been temporarily halted due to a pending Supreme Court decision.
Steps to Apply For NEET PG 2024 Counselling
Candidates are advised to follow the below steps for the counselling process:
- Go to the Medical Counseling Committee official website at mcc.nic.in.
- Select the "PG Counselling" section and select the NEET PG counselling link.
- Fill up the details like valid email and mobile number and complete the required payment.
- Choose and fill in the preferred courses and colleges, then lock in your choices before the deadline.
- Upload necessary documents for verification as instructed on the website.
- Save and print the copy for future reference.

Candidates having a team of 19 NEET PG aspirants have filed a petition demanding the release of question papers, answer keys, and their raw scores. The petitioners argue on this issue and say that these steps are very important to ensure fairness, especially following unexpected changes to the NEET PG 2024 exam pattern just three days before the entrance test. The candidates have also raised voices regarding transparency in the normalisation process and want to seek clarification regarding this problem from the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences.
