IIT Madras Hosts First Pan-IIT Student Governance Summit

This is a very proud moment for the Indian Institute of Technology Madras as for the first time it is going to host the e first-ever ‘Pan IIT Student Governance’ summit on its campus from October 26 to 27.

This two-day summit is going to be the most valuable two days for the students as it includes topics such as Sustainable Campus Policies and Student Practices, Academic Standards and Policies, Research Affairs and Ecosystem Policies, Student Mental Health and Holistic Wellbeing, Undergraduate Placement and Internship Policies, Research Infrastructure and Career Development, as well as Cultural and Technology Festival Planning.

The summit aimed to empower student representatives from various IITs by experting them with the skills, insights, and tools needed to bring meaningful change in their institutions and within the broader IIT network.

The goal of this event is to develop practical solutions that students may use to solve present issues as well as improve the educational experience in general. They also established long-lasting connections with leaders, instructors, alumni, and other interested parties, establishing the foundation for continued cooperation, dialogue, and information exchange within the IIT community.

“I’m excited to see dynamic active leaders from all IITs come together for such a transformative experience. This summit created a unique opportunity for collaboration, idea-sharing, and shaping the future of student governance,” said Atharv Joshi, Student Convenor of the Pan IIT Student Governance Summit and Speaker of the Student Legislative Council at IIT Madras.
