Introduction
The Supreme Court heard the NEET PG Case yesterday, i.e., 25 October 2024. NBEMS has confirmed that the NEET PG evaluation process was entirely automated and computer-based and there was no human involvement in the answer-checking process. The NBEMS further clarified that the NEET PG 2024 information bulletin had already notified candidates that response sheets, question papers, and answer keys would not be released because there is limited availability of high-difficulty questions.
The petition was filed by medical students to disclose the response sheets, raw scores, pre-normalized scores, normalised results, and answer keys for NEET PG 2024. The lack of transparency and discrepancies in the ranking process created suspicion among the students. Students seek justice on the issue from the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) and the government.
The petition, filed under the diary number 41088/2024, is led by Ishika Jain, Kiran Kumar Patil, Tanmoy Deshmukh, and 16 other candidates. The petition demands normalisation and questions the lack of transparency and discrepancies in the evaluation process.
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024 schedule will be released soon. The Medical Counselling Committee will release the complete schedule on the official website–
mcc.nic.in. Candidates can check the MCC Counselling Schedule on the official MCC website.
The NEET PG Counselling Process has been stopped in about six states, including Tamil Nadu and Rajasthan. This is because of the pending decision on the case by the Supreme Court.
The counselling will be conducted in four rounds-
