Cyclone Dana: Schools Closed For Two Days As Holiday Declared In Odisha

This is the late summer time of the time originating cyclone in the Bay of Bengal hitting India's eastern coast therefore this time cyclonic storm “DANA” originated in the Bay of Bengal considering the impact of this disaster Odisha government ordered a holiday in all schools, the colleges, and educational institutions in some districts such as  Ganjam, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Balasore, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Dhenkanal, Jajpur, Angul, Khordha, Nayagarh, and Cuttack will remain closed till October 25.

This declaration was made by following instructions from Special Relief Commissioner DK Singh to the School and Mass Education Department.

Cyclone dana

Indian Metrological Department issued a red alert in the Odisha. As per meteorologists, districts like Puri, Khurda, Ganjam, and Jagatsinghpur will have a pact of heavy rain with violent storms on 24 October. ”Be alert” According to  IMD Bhubaneswar predicted Cyclone Dana at Puri and Sagar Island in West Bengal will make landfall on the night of 24 October. It is said that students should not go out of the house, hence the state government announced a holiday in schools. Due to Cyclone Dana, all schools in Odisha will remain closed till  25 October. After a weekend on 26 and 27 school will reopen from October 27  and will function as usual.

Here school remained closed from October 23 to 25 because of safety concerns.
