JEE Main 2025: Top Engineering Branches Preferred by IIT Delhi Aspirants
Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi’s Computer Science Engineering branch has been the most opted and famous branch among the JEE aspirants.

According to the Joint Implementation Committee (JIC) report 2024,25,064 students at IIT Delhi have shown interest in pursuing computer science engineering (CSE). This time, there was a 14.8% increase in the demand for IIT Delhi over the previous year.
Electrical Engineering is the most demanded branch after CSE which also increased by 14 percent that is 21,855 students opted this year this year in 2021 it was only 19,064.
The third most popular choice is mechanical engineering with 19,055 students opted this year.
Fourth and fifth are four-year courses in Mathematics and Computing 18,760 choice count and electrical engineering (Power and Automation) 16,226 choice count.
Only 16,188 students enrolled in the five-year CSE program this year, although the four-year course is the most popular. That being said, there was a 19.59% growth from 13,536 in 2023 to 16,188 this year. Similarly, just 13,741 students indicated interest in the five-year Mathematics and Computing program, indicating that it did not gain a lot of interest.

Here are the most popular and opted choices at the IIT Delhi:
- Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
- Electrical Engineering (EE)
- Mechanical Engineering (ME)
- Mathematics and Computing (MNC)
- Civil Engineering
The number of students who opted for five-year Mathematics and Computing courses increased by 30.51 percent (10,528 in 2023 to 13,741 in 2024). The other course that observed the highest jump was Energy Engineering (32.6 percent) where the student choice count increased from 8,086 in 2023 to 10,723 in 2024.
