JEE Main 2025: NTA Discontinues Optional Questions in Section B Introduced During COVID

Introduction 

According to the NTA notice, “The registration process for the online JEE Main 2025 application form is going to start in due course of time”.

In the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 in Section B, The National Testing Agency (NTA) has discontinued the optional questions. Candidates who are going to apply for the JEE Main exam in 2025 will not have the option of choosing only five questions out of 10 in section B. According to official authorities, the change is only applicable to JEE Main 2025 

 

The optional section was introduced and has been in progress till 2024 as a temporary measure to accommodate the challenges posed during Covid pandemic.

According to the NTA statement, it has been said that “Since the declaration of the UN World Health Organization (WHO) on the COVID-19 as an end of Public health emergency on 05 May 2023, it has been decided to discontinue the optional selection of questions. It is also clear that the examination structure would return to its original format in which Section B will cover only 5 five questions per subject, and candidates are supposed  to attempt all five questions, without any options for selection in JEE Main 2025 for Paper 1, Paper 2 A and Paper 2 B.”

It is also added that” The detailed Pattern of Examination is going to be included in the Information Bulletin of JEE Main, 2025.” The official website of JEE Main 2025 is jeemain.nta.nic.in which covers all the related information.
