PM Internship Scheme Launched: Know Eligibility Criteria

The Ministry of Corporate Affairs commenced the Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme in a testing stage, focusing on providing internship opportunities to point out youth unemployment in the country. This initiative aims to provide internships to one crore youth in the next five years to make them well-ready before entering into the labor.

Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme registration

Registration for the PM internship scheme is very simple, here are the steps that need to be followed:

  1. Go to the official portal at pminternship.mca.gov.in
  2. Select the “Registration” link on the homepage.
  3. Complete the registration form by filling out all personal details.

After the registration process, a resume will be prepared automatically for the candidates which allows them to apply for at least five internship positions depending on their preferences.

Before filling out the form student must go through the eligibility criteria for PM internship:

  1. Candidate must have passed the class 12th
  2. Must have a degree from an ITI, a diploma from a Polytechnic Institute, or degrees such as BA, BSc, BCom, BCA, BBA, or BPharma.
  3. Youth age should be between 21 and 24 years.
  4. Candidates must not engaged in full-time jobs or educational programs.

Prime Minister’s Internship Scheme

Below point will explain how this internship going to help the students:

  1. Youngsters will receive a stipend of RS 5000 every month and have 12 months of full internship.
  2. Monthly assistance of ?4500 by Government of India and ?500 by Industry

Also, the intern will receive a time grant of ?6000 along with insurance coverage for every intern under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana by the Government of India.

Companies Participating In The Initiative 

Companies participating in the PM Internship Scheme were chosen based on how much they’ve spent on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) over the last three years. More companies, banks, and financial institutions may join, but they need approval from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA). Participation is completely voluntary, and if a company can’t directly offer internships, they can work with their vendors, clients, or partners to create opportunities for interns.

This internship program is a big move towards improving job readiness for young people and building a skilled workforce prepared for the future.
