CAT 2024 Previous Year Slot 1, 2, 3 Question Papers & Solutions

The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) will commence the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 exam on November 24, 2024. The exam opens the door for admission into Master of Business Administration (MBA) and other postgraduate courses. The CAT admit card 2024 will be out on November 5 at iimcat.ac.in.

The CAT question paper contains three sections carrying 66 multiple-choice questions in total. The time of the exam is 120 minutes and contains a total of 198 marks. Each section contains Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Aptitude (QA) and will have a forty-minute sectional time restriction.

CAT 2024: Analysing the previous year's question

A slot-wise paper analysis is very crucial because each slot has a different nature. Here is the slot-wise previous  question paper analysis:

  1. The paper in slot 1 was of moderate difficulty, with the VARC section being the most complicated for candidates. The DILR section was uncertain while the QA section was easy for most students.
  2. In slot 2, the VARC section was easier than in slot 1, with very simple and straightforward questions. However, DILR was still the toughest section. The QA section had a mixture of moderate and tough questions, and it was considered time-consuming by many students.
  3. Slot 3 followed the same pattern, with the VARC section being easier compared to earlier slots. DILR remained the most difficult, with complicated and time-consuming sets. The QA section had some tough questions, requiring a high level of understanding.
