Odisha Govt Recruits 16,000 Junior Teachers; Aims to Enhance Quality of Education

The Odisha government has appointed 16,009 junior teachers in primary and upper primary schools under various schemes on Saturday. Appointment letters were handed over by Chief Minister Mohan Majhi during a function at Kalinga Stadium in the presence of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The teachers were appointed in all the 30 districts of the state.

While addressing the gathering, Majhi said, "Teaching is the most respectful profession and teachers shape the future of society. In ancient times, gurus were compared to Lords like Brahma, Vishnu, and Maheswar”.

The chief minister also said his government has substantially raised the budgetary allocation for education.

Appointment letters have been provided to more than 16,000 newly-inducted teachers  today to strengthen the school education landscape

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said that "This is a great and powerful step towards improving the quality of education and also helps to secure a bright future for Odisha's children. For this CM Mohan Odisha's govt under the guidance of Hon'ble PM Shri Narendra Modi is working twenty-four hours  to realise aspirations complete all poll promises and achieve the goal of Viksit Odisha by 2036."

In a release, the regional party said "The BJD government had completed the entire recruitment process previously. The BJP has no role in it, but takes credit just by distributing appointment letters."
