Kerala brings out new entrance training program to benefit over 8 lakh students

The Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE) introduced a comprehensive initiative aimed at helping more than 8 lakh public school students prepare for different university entrance exams.

This program covers a wide range of subjects such as  Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, History, Political Science, Business Studies, English, and Geography, and the schedule will be updated from time to time with plans to expand the number of subjects in the future.

With the title ‘Key to Entrance’, the program was launched by General Education Minister V Sivankutty here on Saturday. According to the official statement, the commitment of the programme is to enhance educational opportunities for students in the Science, Humanities, and Commerce streams.

KITE VICTERS channel

A dedicated portal, entrance.kite.kerala.gov.in, has been introduced to provide free content access to higher secondary and vocational higher secondary students from government and aided schools. The platform offers broad variety of resources, including sample papers, assignments, and mock tests, uploaded for students after live daily classes. These live sessions broadcast on the KITE VICTERS channel on September 30, which will be broadcast on two PM eVidya channels specifically allocated for Kerala. Students who can’t attent the session live can access the lecture from the KITE’s YouTube channel.

Initially the programme will initially cover a wide range of subjects, including Chemistry, Physics, Botany, Zoology, Mathematics, History, Political Science, Business Studies, English, and Geography, having goal to increase the number of subjects in future.

With every session, students have a chance to evaluate themselves so that they can track their development and focus on the areas that still require work. To make ensure learning objectives are achieved, online sample tests will be used for continuous assessment. 

The  Director of General Education (DGE) has issued prospectus to all schools to make the necessary technical arrangement  available for students for the smooth implantation of the initiative.

K Anvar Sadath, CEO of KITE, said that  the program is Kerala’s largest public training system for entrance exams, accessible almost 800,000 students. He pointed the success of last year’s “Crack the Entrance” crash course, which witnessed great participation and fantastic outcomes for students preparing for entrance examinations in engineering and medicine.
