The central Board of Secondary Education, Ministry of Education,has decided to conduct board exams twice a year from 2025-2026.According to media reports,the CBSE board exams for class 12 will start in June 2026 to reduce the exam pressure faced by the students.
National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE) recommends that the central Board change the exam pattern by conducting board exams twice a year. It also suggests having an option of “ CBSE Board supplementary exams” in July to help students to reduce the exam pressure and enhance their performance.These supplementary exams are scheduled after the declaration of exams results in May.Students who failed can also participate in the exams.
The Central Board of Secondary Education board is currently in the process of creating a date sheet for another set of board exams for the students,without the impact of the undergraduate admission schedule.They will organize a meeting with board principals next month to work out the modalities of the board exam.
From the recent information,the Central Board of Secondary Education ( CBSE) would require approximately 15 days to organize or create a second set of exams . This announcement will be declared officially in the month of August.
