The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has reduced the NEET MDS 2024 qualifying cutoff percentile by 21.692 for all categories, including General, SC, ST, OBC, and UR-PwD. This decision is aimed at filling vacant seats for Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) courses during the ongoing counselling session.
This reduction comes under the guidelines provided by the Dental Council of India (DCI) and by the DCI's MDS Regulations, 2017. The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) will announce the revised NEET MDS results shortly, and the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will then proceed with the counselling based on these results.
This move aims to ensure that all available seats are filled during the counselling process, helping aspiring candidates secure admissions to MDS programs across the country.
With the percentile, a sudden downfall in marks was also seen in NEET MDS 2024:
CATEGORY | PREVIOUS MARKS(out of 960) | REVISED MARKS(out of 960) |
General Category | 263 | 174 |
SC/ST/OBC Category (including PWD of SC/ST/OBC) |
227 | 138 |
General-PwD Category | 245 | 157 |
