UGC NET 2024: Aspirants Anxious Over Answer Key Errors, Challenge Process, and Non-Refundable Fee

Several errors in the University Grants Commission - National Eligibility Test (UGC) NET 2024 Answer Key have been pointed out by students. The exam was conducted in August and September by the National Testing Agency (NTA). According to students, the UGC NET 2024 answer key is a scam. Moreover, candidates have been asked to pay a non-refundable fee (INR 200) to raise any objections against the same. This is adding to their stress and anger. Students are calling it a ‘pointless exercise’.

UGC NET Answer Key 2024

Right after the UGC NET History answer key along with the answers for other rescheduled exams held on August 27-30 and September 2-5 was published, candidates demanded to upload the updated answer key as they could not afford to object over 60 questions.

“The fact that there are over 60 incorrect answers in the answer key for the History paper (Shift I) of the UGC NET 2024 (rescheduled) test is quite worrying. This has caused much anxiety in the student community. Many applicants are unable to afford the high costs related to contesting the answers.”, wrote Lok Sabha MP Abdussamad Samadani to UGC chairman Jagadesh Kumar.

He added, “Releasing an updated answer key that is error-free can solve the present crisis. This will restore the fairness and integrity of the examination and will do justice to the candidates. I, therefore, request you to do the needful in this regard at the earliest”.

Students alleged that there are over 60 errors and to raise objections against them, it would cost them around INR 12,000. The ones who appeared for Linguistics, Management and UGC NET English also expressed dissatisfaction and claimed that several answers were wrong.
