IIT Delhi Abu Dhabi Opens In UAE, Announces Partnership With Four Universities
The first international campus of India’s prestigious Indian Institute of Technology in the UAE capital was inaugurated, IIT DELHI ABU DHABI.
In this event, Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed launched the partnership between IIT DELHI and leading institutes such as Khalifa University, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence, Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, and Zayed University.
This is the second international campus of an IIT, the first already being launched is IIT Madras's international campus in Zanzibar. It helps the students for their research and development.
The release said that this is an agreement between the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, IIT Delhi, and India’s Ministry of Education, witnessed by President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Prime Minister Narendra Modi in July 2023. The inauguration was announced by the UAE’s official news.
Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi announces the establishment of joint research projects, postgraduate student exchanges, and the organisation of scientific seminars. The Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence will also establish joint research, offer seed project grants, and host internships.
A raft of deals has already been made between the Abu Dhabi IIT and a number of the emirate’s leading universities. Sheikh Khaled toured the campus and was told of its diverse academic programme, including courses in energy, engineering and computer science.
