Assam Government Restricts NEET UG Exam Centers to Government Schools
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced that the NEET 2025 exam will be conducted only in government schools across the state. The decision, aimed at ensuring fairness and transparency, has been approved by the Union Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan. The NEET UG entrance exam 2025 is scheduled to take place on May 4 across India.
Expressing concerns over potential irregularities in private educational institutions, the Assam CM advocated for conducting the NEET UG exam centres in Assam under strict surveillance. The state government has already begun coordinating with the central government to ensure the smooth implementation of this decision.
Sharing the announcement on Facebook, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma stated:
"I asked the Union Minister if we could conduct the NEET exam in government schools under strict surveillance and security. He accepted my proposal, and we have already communicated with the central government. As a result, NEET exam centres in Assam will now be set up only in government schools."
