CUET UG 2025 Changes by NTA for Undergraduate College Examinations
Intending to allow more flexibility as well as to streamline the process of admission to undergraduate courses, the NTA has introduced some major changes in the CUET UG 2025 examination.
Key Changes in CUET UG 2025
- Flexible Subject Selection: Students can now choose subjects in CUET 2025 without regard to their class 12 stream, thus allowing greater academic freedom.
- Computer-Based Test (CBT) Mode: The examination will now be conducted only through CBT mode, shifting from previous mixed-mode formats to further enhance reliability and security.
- Reduced Number of Subjects: The number of subjects was reduced from 63 to 37, focusing on the core disciplines.
- Uniform Exam Duration: All the test papers shall have the same 60 minutes for the uniformity of assessment.
- Selection of Subjects: Candidates may choose a maximum of 5 subjects, including language and the General Aptitude Test (GAT).
Revised Exam Pattern
- Sections: The test consists of three sections:
- Section IA: 13 languages, including Hindi, English, and regional languages.
- Section II: 23 domain-specific subjects.
- Section III: General Aptitude Test (GAT).
- Question Format: 1. All sections would contain 50 MCQs without any optional or exempted questions.
- Marking Scheme: Each correct answer receives 5 marks, whereas each incorrect answer deducts 1 mark. Unattempted questions do not yield any results.
