The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced CBSE draft norms for conducting CBSE Class 10 Board Exam twice a year, starting from 2026. The new system aims to provide flexibility to students and reduce the high-stakes pressure of a single annual exam. The CBSE Board Exam proposal has been opened for public feedback until March 9, 2025, before finalizing the policy.
As per the CBSE draft norms, the CBSE Class 10 Examination will be conducted in two phases:
Each CBSE Board Exam edition will cover the CBSE Full Syllabus, ensuring that students receive a second chance to improve their performance without waiting an entire academic year.
The National Education Policy (NEP) recommends multiple attempts in a school year to reduce exam pressure and improve student performance. With this shift, the CBSE Board Exam will allow students to better showcase their learning abilities.
CBSE has invited all students, parents, and educators to submit their feedback on the CBSE draft norms until March 9, 2025. The final policy will be implemented based on these suggestions.
