GATE 2025 Resumes Tomorrow: Revised Exam Centers, Rescheduled Dates, and Marking Scheme Changes
The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 will resume tomorrow, February 15, with revised exam centers and updates on the marking scheme. IIT Roorkee, the organizing institute, has significantly changed the exam schedule due to the Mahakumbh event in Prayagraj. Candidates appearing for the exam must check their updated GATE 2025 admit cards on the official website, gate2025.iitr.ac.in.
GATE 2025 Revised Exam Centers and Rescheduled Dates
In view of the Mahakumbh, GATE 2025 revised exam centers have been shifted from Prayagraj to Lucknow for exams scheduled on February 15 and 16. Candidates must ensure they report to the updated exam centers as per the revised details on their admit cards.
The GATE 2025 exam rescheduled dates and subject-wise shifts are as follows:
February 15:
- Forenoon Session (9:30 AM - 12:30 PM): CY, AE, DA, ES, PI
- Afternoon Session (2:30 PM - 5:30 PM): EC, GE, XH, BM, EY
February 16:
- Forenoon Session: CE1, GG, CH, PH, BT
- Afternoon Session: CE2, ST, XE, XL, MN
Previously, GATE 2025 revised exam centers were also updated for exams held on February 1 and 2. Candidates must carefully review their admit cards to avoid last-minute confusion.
GATE 2025 Marking Scheme Changes
The GATE 2025 marking scheme has specific guidelines regarding negative marking and section-wise weightage:
- Each question carries either one or two marks.
- Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs):
- For 1-mark MCQs, 1/3rd mark will be deducted for incorrect answers.
- For 2-mark MCQs, 2/3rd mark will be deducted for incorrect answers.
- Multiple Select Questions (MSQs) & Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions:
- No negative marking for incorrect answers.
- No partial marking will be awarded.
- Section-wise Weightage:
- General Aptitude: 15%
- Engineering Mathematics: 10-15%
- Subject-Specific Section: 70-75%
GATE 2025 Admit Card Download
Candidates must download their revised GATE 2025 admit cards from gate2025.iitr.ac.in by using their enrollment ID and password. The admit card will contain essential details, including:
- Candidate’s photograph and signature
- Enrollment ID
- Paper code
- Exam date, timing, and venue
- Exam day guidelines
GATE 2025 Result Date & Further Updates
