Unlike raw marks, NTA percentile scores are normalized scores that adjust for variations in the difficulty level of different exam shifts. The percentile score represents the relative performance of a candidate compared to others in the same session.
The JEE Mains percentile score ensures fairness by considering multi-session exam patterns. Since different shifts may have different difficulty levels, the normalization process ensures that no candidate gains an unfair advantage or disadvantage.
NTA uses the following formula to compute the JEE Main 2025 percentile score:
Percentile Score=(Total candidates who scored equal to or less than the candidateTotal candidates who appeared in that session)×100 ext{Percentile Score} = left( frac{ ext{Total candidates who scored equal to or less than the candidate}}{ ext{Total candidates who appeared in that session}} ight) imes 100Percentile Score=(Total candidates who appeared in that sessionTotal candidates who scored equal to or less than the candidate?)×100
Candidates who wish to improve their JEE Main percentile score can register for JEE Main 2025 Session 2, which will be held in April 2025. The final All India Ranks (AIRs) will be released after the second session.
