CLAT 2025 Result hearing adjourned until Jan 30, Petitioner to move SC

CLAT 2025 Result:

A candidate challenging the 2025 Common Law Admission Test (CLAT-UG) results, Aditya Singh, told the Delhi High Court that he plans to file a petition with the Supreme Court to have his case moved from the High Court to the highest court. Since similar instances are ongoing in other High Courts, Singh's lawyer informed the Bench, which was composed of Justice Tushar Rao Gedela and Acting Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru, that they would ask the Supreme Court to consider and merge these cases. The case was postponed until January 30 by the Division Bench.

Singh's case had previously been adjourned by the High Court. Singh is challenging Justice Jyoti Singh's decision from December 20, which partially supported his case on alleged mistakes in a few CLAT-UG questions. In agreement with Singh's claim that two of the five questions that were identified included glaring mistakes, Justice Singh ordered the Consortium of NLUs to update the answers to those questions. Singh and the NLU Consortium appealed the decision to the Division Bench. The Consortium argues that by acting as an expert and influencing the choices made by exam experts, the single judge went beyond the bounds of authority.

Singh, however, wants to broaden the correction's application, claiming that three more questions also include blatant mistakes. On December 24, the Division Bench heard the case and declined to stay the single-judge ruling, enabling the Consortium to move forward with the results modifications for the two Singh-identified questions. Similar disputes regarding inaccurate answer keys have also been raised by the CLAT PG test; these cases are presently being heard in the High Courts of Madhya Pradesh and Bombay.
