IIT Hyderabad Partners with Hamamatsu City: Talent Exchange Program for Indian Tech Professionals.

The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) has partnered with Hamamatsu City in Japan to boost collaboration in workforce exchange and economic growth between India and Japan.

IIT global tie-ups focus on three main areas: exchanging skilled professionals, promoting research and development in academics and industries, and creating opportunities for Indian tech experts to work in Hamamatsu.

Under this agreement, Indian tech talents in fields like science and engineering will get a chance to work in Japan. The initiative also seeks to unlock partnerships in research and innovation between the two nations.

IIT Hyderabad Director, BS Murty, expressed himself excited about the opportunity as he said the following. Using specific examples Mushant pointed out that this is the first time that a country has invested in the physical build-up of an IIT. Beyond that, the collaboration builds on the strong ties formed through Japan’s JICA “FRIENDSHIP” program, now in its second phase. He expressed gratitude for the visit of Hamamatsu City’s Mayor and noted that this MoU represents a step towards stronger partnerships between Hamamatsu industries and IIT Hyderabad. Murty emphasized that the collaboration aligns with India’s vision of becoming a developed nation under the "Viksit Bharat" initiative.

Yusuke Nakano, the Mayor of Hamamatsu City, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership, calling it an opportunity to build connections through technology and culture. He acknowledged IIT Hyderabad’s reputation for producing top engineering and technology talent and expressed hope that this agreement would lead to more collaborations, Japan talent exchanges, and stronger ties between the two nations.
