Only 2% of Higher Education Institutes Offer Work-Linked Degrees- Report

Introduction 

According to a TeamLease EdTech survey, only 2 per cent of the higher education institutions (HEIs) offer work-linked degrees despite high demand. The survey said on Tuesday that over 85 per cent of students interviewed endorsed work-linked degrees as the future. Only 2% work-linked programs are offered by the higher education institutions

About 80 per cent of students believe that their chances of securing high-paying jobs will be improved based on the work experience on their CVs. 40 per cent of the respondents said that financial independence is a key driver behind their preference for work-linked degrees. 66% of students valued flexibility in learning schedules, and 56 per cent were drawn to on-the-job mentorship, it added.

The report by TeamLease EdTech is based on a survey conducted with over 10,000 students across India. According to the report, about 93 per cent of students are familiar with the concept of work-linked degrees. Metro cities such as Delhi, Bengaluru and Mumbai exhibit the highest levels of awareness.
