CBSE Surprise Inspections Uncover Violations in 29 Schools Across India
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) conducted surprise inspections in 29 schools across six regions on December 18 and 19, 2024.
CBSE Surprise Inspection
The goal was to check if schools were following the Board’s Affiliation Bye-Laws. The inspections focused on key areas like student enrolment, infrastructure, and overall operational standards.
Surprise Inspections in Indian Schools
The inspections started in Delhi on December 18 and continued on December 19 in Bengaluru (Karnataka), Patna (Bihar), Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh), Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh), and Ahmedabad (Gujarat).
A total of 29 teams, made up of CBSE officers and principals from affiliated schools, carried out these checks. The surprise element was carefully planned to ensure accurate results.
CBSE School Rules and Violations
The conclusions showed that some of the most drastic violations were identified. A significant number of schools had taken orders for students, who did not even attend the classes, which is why 34 percent of them were referred to by CBSE as the ‘non-attending’ enrolments. Also, various schools were not able to provide the requirements for physical infrastructure as directed by CBSE.
CBSE School Inspections Report
CBSE has cracked the whip on the schools that they have found guilty of flouting the laid down procedures. As a result of the violation of these terms, show-cause notices have been served on these schools, and further action is being contemplated by the Board.
