Rajasthan NEET PG Counselling 2024 Resumes: Court Rules No Error, NBEMS Clarifies Normalization

Introduction

The Supreme Court will hear the NEET PG 2024 case after being postponed for the fifth time by raising questions about the transparency of the exam and the functioning of the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences today. While the NBE board remained unchanged to the concerns of the aspirants, they still have hope to find clarity on the NEET PG results 2024.

The controversy occurred around the normalization process by the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences. The petitioners claimed inconsistencies in score calculations, which they argued adversely affected their chances of securing a seat. However, the NBEMS has clarified that its normalization process is done to establish guidelines by ensuring fairness across candidates who attempt the examination in multiple shifts. The normalization method will cover statistical adjustments to account for variations in difficulty levels between different exam sessions by providing a level playing field for all aspirants.

The Rajasthan High Court has considered the methodology and confirmed its compliance with national standards. This ruling will allow the counseling process to proceed without any further delays.

Medical students in Rajasthan can now easily complete the counseling process and can get admission to their desired postgraduate programs. The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Rajasthan, has also decided to update counseling schedules by urging candidates to stay informed through the official website.

The resumption of counseling is expected to bring closure for the candidates to the weeks of uncertainty they have faced. With the court’s and NBEMS’s clarification, confidence in the examination and admission processes has been reaffirmed by giving a fair opportunity for all participants.
