BITS Pilani and DIAT Pune Launch National Security Certificate Courses, Collaborate on Research
Introduction
The Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani, signed an agreement with the Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) Pune on 4 December. According to BITS Pilani, workshops, seminars, and conferences focused in the fields of national security will be conducted by both the institutions. BITS Pilani said that both the institutions will focus on joint research work in the field of national security. The Center for Research Excellence in National Security (CRENS) established at the BITS Pilani will facilitate the partnership.
According to the official BITS Pilani statement, the new partnership aims to focus on joint research, develop technology, upskill professionals, and nurture entrepreneurship in technology domains. BITS Pilani and DIAT Pune will also deliver certification courses in a hybrid format. The certificate programs will cater to technology, upskilling professionals, and nurturing entrepreneurship in technology domains.
BHVS Narayana Murthy, the vice-chancellor of DIAT Pune said, “DIAT Pune is committed to fostering India’s defence technological advancements through focused research, innovation, and skill development. BITS Pilani has always been at the forefront of innovation and our partnership with the prestigious institution will allow us to syndicate resources and expertise to address challenging issues hindering National Security and create an ecosystem for collaboration, innovation, and entrepreneurship.”
“Our partnership with DIAT Pune reflects a shared vision that through research and innovation, we can synergistically elevate the defence capability of India and give a technological push to India. Through CRENS we aim to address the veritable challenges and bring about self-reliance in the strategic sectors”, said Ramgopal Rao the vice-chancellor of BITS Pilani.
