The Indian government, under the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, has introduced several reforms to improve education. One of these initiatives is APAAR, which stands for Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry. It’s a system designed to give every student in India a unique ID for storing their academic records digitally.
The APAAR ID is a 12-digit unique identification number that serves as a central hub for all a student’s academic records. It keeps track of everything from report cards and degrees to co-curricular achievements. Think of it as a digital backpack where all your certificates, grades, and accomplishments are safely stored online.
The APAAR ID is part of the "One Nation, One Student ID" vision under NEP 2020. It works hand-in-hand with the Academic Bank of Credits (ABC), a virtual database that keeps a record of the credits students earn as they complete different parts of their studies.
