NEET PG 2024 Supreme Court Hearing: Impact on State Counselling

Introduction

The Supreme Court hearing on issues surrounding NEET PG 2024 has implications for state counselling. The case primarily concerns the topic of transparency of the exam process which includes last-minute changes to information bulletins and the lack of clarity in operating procedures. Petitioners have also argued on these factors which create confusion for states and candidates by way of affecting counselling procedures. The Supreme Court has also raised the questions on Centre for clarifications, but further hearings have been postponed.

Besides the legal stays and ongoing MCC NEET PG counselling 2024, states covering Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Rajasthan have also been hearing the petitions filed against the discrepancies in the NEET PG results.

While the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has initiated registration for All India Quota (AIQ) counselling, the full schedule, including seat allotment and reporting dates, is still delayed. This delay will affect the candidates by causing anxiety as they wait for clarification on state-specific and AIQ counselling timelines

State counselling processes will surely be dependent heavily on the timely resolution of these national-level issues. The delay could also result in a compressed timeline for state counselling and results in logistical challenges for candidates and authorities alike.

Candidates should keep track of updates from the MCC and state authorities which is very important.. For further details, candidates are supposed to visit the online portal.
