Major Changes Announced by NTA for JEE Main 2025 Exam
Introduction
The Joint Entrance Examination Main 2025, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) every year, brings several notable changes for the candidates that need to be aware of. These updates will help to introduce structural adjustments.
- There will be no Optional Questions in Section B but previously, candidates can select five questions out of ten in Section B. Now, this option has been removed and all five numerical-type questions in Section B are compulsory for all papers which includes B.E./B.Tech, B.Arch, and B.Planning.
- Negative marking will be there for Section B numerical-type questions in which one mark is deducted for every incorrect answer. This is very much similar to the marking scheme for multiple-choice questions.
- Now, the syllabus for JEE Main 2025 has been slightly reduced. Candidates can get the details about the removed topics on the official website.
- Candidates who have benchmark disabilities will get an additional one-hour extension during the three-hour exam, irrespective of their use of a scribe.
- In case of a tie, priority will be given based on scores in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry rather than age or application number.
- Now, the official website has also been reverted to its original URL i.e jeemain.nta.nic.in.
These updates had a motive to standardize the exam while addressing specific needs of the candidates and improving fairness. For more latest and detailed information, candidates are supposed to visit the official NTA website
