The CAT 2024 Slot 2 exam was held on November 24, 2024 and featured a total of 68 questions across three sections:
VARC Section has 24 Questions which were considered moderately difficult. It consisted of four reading comprehension passages each followed by four questions and eight verbal ability questions. It should be noted that there were no para-jumble questions this year.
The DILR section had 22 Questions): The DILR section with a moderate level of difficulty. It includes 14 multiple-choice questions and 8-10 type-in-the-answer questions. Candidates found the logical reasoning part to be more challenging as compared to the data interpretation sets.
QA Section covers 22 moderately difficult Questions, with a focus on arithmetic which is similar to Slot 1. Candidates could have the aim to attempt 11-12 questions accurately.
The exam was very lengthy, with an overall moderate to difficult difficulty level. The DILR section was slightly more challenging than in Slot 1 and the VARC section was considered easier.
This year higher cut-offs are anticipated with the moderate to difficult nature of the exam. For example, IIM Rohtak's cutoff is expected to be around 83-84 percentile.
The actual cutoffs will depend on various factors like the overall performance of candidates and the normalization process.
