IIM CAT 2024: Exam Guidelines, Slot Timings, and Key Updates for MBA Aspirants
The CAT 2024 exam is going to be conducted by IIM Calcutta on November 24, 2024, in three shifts. Over 3 lakh candidates are expected to appear for the test at over 400 test centres in 170 cities across India. For candidates to take the test, the designated CAT test centres will be equipped with computer labs. There should be CCTV vigilance and strict security to prevent cheating and other malpractices.
To allow candidates to take the CAT exam easily and in a secure and comfortable environment, the examination authority prescribes exam day guidelines.
CAT 2024 Exam Timings

Things To Carry During The Exam
- One Photo ID proof like an Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID, Passport, Driving License, E-Aadhaar and Ration card.
- Two copies of the CAT 2024 admit card with a passport-size photo affixed to them.
- PwD candidates need to carry a scribe certificate
- Candidates must carry a medical certificate attested by an MBBS doctor.
- Students suffering from diabetes can carry fruits with prior permission.
Important Guidelines For CAT 2024:
- Print all the pages of the CAT 2024 admit card on an A4 size paper. They should affix the same photo as uploaded with the CAT 2024 application form.
- Candidates are not allowed to wear goggles, caps and clothes having pockets.
- Closed shoes, belts, jewellery and accessories having metal is strictly prohibited inside the CAT test centre.
- Candidates are not allowed to carry electronic items, watches, mobile phones, blue speakers, earphones, stationery items like pens, paper, bags, wallets, etc.
- Parents and guardians will not be allowed inside the CAT test centre premises
- Bio breaks are avoided during the exam.
- There will be no facility to deposit bags and belongings at the CAT test centre in 2024, so candidates should either not carry any or make their arrangements.
