IIMs Ahmedabad, Kozhikode, Lucknow & Sambalpur Launch School Leadership & Teacher Training Programs

The Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) have always been known for producing top business graduates in India. But recently, they’ve started doing much more than business education. IIMs are now training school leaders like principals and teachers in helping them to develop important skills such as communication, management, and understanding how to improve the curriculum.

They are also helping schools so that they can use technology better, so they can compete with the needs of modern education. These institutes have signed agreements with several state governments. In some states, not only school principals but also education officials and public sector employees are included in the training.

Bharti Kalra, a vice principal at a Delhi government school, attended a training session at IIM Ahmedabad in 2018. She explained that this program has made a difference for her. "I had just been in my role as school head for six months when I got the chance to attend the training. The program included case studies on Indian schools that IIM Ahmedabad had researched. They shared examples of successful projects from other schools, which gave me the confidence to try new ideas at my school. Before the training, my job was only like following strict government rules. This program inspired me to think differently and explore new ideas," said Kalra.

Additionally, the program content is carefully designed to be of high quality, making it both interesting and informative.” In recent years, the institute has also held a five-day training program for school principals and staff from the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) in Delhi.
