ISRO-IIT Madras MoU: New Centre of Excellence in Fluid and Thermal Sciences

ISRO has given IIT-Madras funding of ?1.84 crore to set up a special center focused on fluid and thermal sciences.

On Monday, Manu Santhanam, Dean of Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research at IIT-M, and Victor Joseph T., Director of the Directorate of Technology Development and Innovation at ISRO, signed an agreement (MoU) to establish this center.

Impact and Goals

Professor Arvind Parramatta from IIT-M’s mechanical engineering department explained that the new center is going for both ISRO scientists and IIT-M researchers to make important contributions to India’s space program, enhancing the country’s self-reliance in space technology.
