Eligibility criteria:

Undergraduate

BE / B.Tech / B.Sc

  • Have passed the Class 12 examination with a minimum of 75% aggregate marks in the Science stream (Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics).
  • Have qualified in the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced.

Admissions

  • Admission to IIT Bombay UG programs is through the Joint Entrance Examination - Advanced (JEE Advanced). Candidates must qualify for JEE Advanced and secure a rank within the cut-off set by IIT Kanpur for the desired program.

Post-Graduate

IIT Kanpur MBA eligibility and M.Tech/ M.Sc

  • Have a bachelor's degree in engineering or science from a 4-year program with a minimum of 75% marks or 7.5 CPI from a recognized university
  • Have a valid score or qualification in CAT, GATE, CSIR, JRF, NET, COGJET, or other equivalent exam
  • Have an overall grade point average of 6.5/10 or higher and 8.0/10 in the last two years if they completed B.Tech from IIT

Admission process: Admission to most PG courses at IIT Kanpur is through a national entrance exam, such as GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering), JAM (Joint Admission Test for MSc), or CEED (Common Entrance Exam for Design).

In addition to the above general eligibility criteria, some PG courses at IIT Kanpur may have additional requirements, such as relevant work experience or a portfolio of work.
