About IIM Kozhikode

Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode, abbreviated as IIM-K, is one of the premier second-generation business schools in the country. It was set up in 1996 by the Government of India in collaboration with the State Government of Kerala. Nestled in the picturesque city of Kozhikode (Calicut) in Kerala, IIM Kozhikode is a school of academic excellence, innovation, and research. Eligibility Criteria at IIM Kozhikode

The eligibility for different programs at IIM Kozhikode varies:

  • PGP: The candidates need to possess a bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks. Admission is done through a CAT score and followed by a Personal Interview.
  • EPGP: The candidates require a minimum of three years of work experience along with a valid GMAT/CAT score.
  • FPM: The candidates must have possessed a master's degree or equivalent with at least 55% marks. Selection will be based on Academic performance, the Research Proposal, and Interview?
  • PhD:
  1. Post-graduation degree or equivalent in any discipline (including M.A., M.Com., M.E., M.Phil., M.Sc., M.Tech, MBA, MCA, etc.) with at least 55% aggregate or equivalent.
  2. A professional qualification like CA/ICWA/CS with at least 50 % aggregate in the Bachelor's Degree with at least 50 % aggregate in the Bachelor's Degree
  3. 4-year/8-semester Bachelor's degree with a minimum 75 % aggregate or equivalent

Executive Programs

  • IIM Kozhikode's EEPs are executive education programs for working professionals who want to enhance their managerial skills.

Admission and Selection Process

Admission to IIM Kozhikode is highly competitive. Candidates are shortlisted in the PGP program based on the CAT score. In the next two stages, the shortlisted candidates go through the process of selection. The selection after that process is divided into two stages that are:

  • WAT (Writing ability test) and PI(personal interview).
  • CAT Score, Academic Mark List, Work Experience, and WAT and PI Performance.
  • Programs like the EPGP Executive programs have selection based on entrance tests (EMAT for EPGP) and personal interviews.

Located at the personifying serene hills of Kerala, the IIM Kozhikode campus stands on 112.5 acres of land decked with greenery. Built on the hillocks in the Kunnamangalam area of Kozhikode, the picturesque view of the vast landscape gives out an aura of quietness.   • Hostel: 
  1. The Institute has a total of 20 well-designed hostels that can house about 1400 students. In the hostels, accordingly, there is a connection to LAN and WIFI in every room for the benefit of the computing needs of students. 
  2. Students are provided with single/sharing rooms. The hostels are equipped with washing machines and water dispensers, and most have fitted geysers. 
  3. In addition, most hostels are fitted with air conditioning facilities. Besides serving as a night canteen to the nocturnal souls, it too caters to the food requirements of the students.
  • Library: 
  1. A dynamic print and digital resource Library & Information Centre is on its way to becoming an outstanding learning resource center catering to the ever-growing and uncompromising information and intellectual requirements of the students, faculty, and researchers.
  2.  A balanced program on the development of a collection of hard copy, audio/video, CD-ROM, and other electronic forms of documents is being followed. LIC possesses one of the finest collections of the latest management publications.
  • Amphitheatre: 
  1. There are 2 amphitheaters with seating capacity of about 250 and 400. These are used for conducting seminars, conferences, culture programs, student events, and other important events of the institute 
  • Sports Infrastructure: Cricket grounds, football fields, badminton courts, and a fully equipped gymnasium

  1. The accommodation facility consists of 116 functional Standard and Premium air-conditioned accommodations with an attached bathroom, a TV with cable connection, a small refrigerator, and internet connectivity. 
  2. Other facilities include a separate 90-cover premium dining hall, a reading lounge, classrooms, an auditorium, and Buzz rooms.
